Separate observed facts, limitations, individual context, generalized standards, actual risk, and alternatives.
Review and record
Use the full ten-step framework, then make the decision traceable.
- Define the function and comparator.Record the claimed mobility task and relevant activity, aid, or trip.
- Review output and burden.Keep supplied units, sample counts, dates, and body-coupling context visible.
- Check repeated observations.Preserve mixed direction, missingness, and unequal conditions.
- Assess evidence quality.Record source authority, provenance, validation, limitations, and reproducibility.
- Separate observation from diagnosis.Wearable estimates do not directly measure pain or independently establish a clinical conclusion.
- Assess actual individualized risk.Use setting-specific evidence rather than unfamiliarity or appearance.
- Test effective alternatives.Determine whether each proposed alternative preserves meaningful access.
- State uncertainty.Identify what is unknown and what new information could change the decision.
- Explain the decision.Tie each restriction or accommodation to the documented record.
- Avoid universalizing the example.Individual case evidence illustrates a method; it does not establish a universal rule.
